How do I increase the transfer speeds?
Go to your software Control Panel under the "Transfer" tab. There you will notice that the "downloads allowed at once" option in preferences is set to 1.This allows you to download as many files as you would like, at once. If we change this number from 1 to 7, this means you will only be able to download 7 files at once. Until those 7 files are done downloading, your other downloads will read "locally paused". You will also notice that the "Maximum Upload Bandwidth" option in preferences is set to 0. This enables all your upload bandwidth to be used by others. If you change this option to a number under 8 kb/s, your downloads will become "Leech Paused". The Ares programmers have incorporated this feature, to ensure people are downloading and uploading at good speeds. If you see your downloads read "Leech Paused", ensure that your number is set to 0 or something other than 8 kb/s. Under that same tab: you can also change the incoming connecting port number to 1157.
